While starting from the home, mom said take care; dad said learn the life; friends said have fun.. but wasn't sure how good it would be. All I wanted was, to Move On.
Started with a 10 days stay at Busy Banglore followed by a month and half long stay at Dilli Dilwaloki...
By the time, i'd started learning how to see the colors of life..
And then it took me to the place i've never imagined i'd ever been, Shilliong. It's the capital city of a north east state, Meghalaya. Drizzling all through the day, walking through the cloud, beautiful lush green hills and roads full of Maruti 800s as Taxis define the town properly. The thought about a full month of stay in this town was really horrible while my initial stay in one of the hotels, booked by my colleagues, known The Baba Tourist Lodge!! But my mind was completely changed when I got to stay in a guest house on one of the hilly areas. The wooden house, made up in Aasami style, a cute small single occupancy room and the window opening to the road near by. The all as a whole would be the reason behind making the stay a memorable one.
Life in Shillong teaches many things. People are living their life at the fullest. No worries, at all. They dare to live the life the way they want. This makes the people modern (i guess), adoptive to the changes. And probably this only makes the city the trend creator in the fashion world.
The city is weird though. As it's got Maruti 800 as taxi, it also has it's strange way to get into a cab. It's no more grater than our local shared Chhakda!! Call for one, see if the place inside and grab the place before someone else does from the crowd around!! In Shillong, you may say the Men are good for nothing(not literally), but for only two things: Foot ball and Music. The man marries to a woman and goes to her house, the child has mother's surname. The women are the major sources of income in the house as they run the shops or go to the office and these make the region female dominated one.
And this is Shillong, till now..
